MISSION HILLS MEADOW LINKS COURSE RANKED TOP TEN IN THE WORLD
[Haikou, China – 15th February 2019] The Meadow Links course at China’s Mission Hills Haikou resort has been ranked seventh in golfscape’s list of the world’s top 100 golf courses and number one in China.
The Brian Curley-designed Meadow Links course on the tropical island of Hainan is part of the pioneering Mission Hills complex in China, which spans 40 square kilometres and 22 golf courses across two locations, making it the world’s largest golf facility. Mission Hills Haikou was recently voted Asia-Pacific Golf Resort of the Year by IAGTO, the world's leading tourism organisation.
Based upon the traditional US Open courses of the eastern United States, the par-70 Meadow Links layout features lay-of-the land sensibilities and somewhat geometric shapes in both bunkering and fairway lines. Distinctive features such as the fabled “Church Pew” bunkers make for a unique look where grass-faced bunkers and native grasses give the course an open meadow feel with occasional clusters of trees.
The online golf travel platform golfscape consulted with industry leaders to compile its first ‘World’s Top 100’ list, which features courses that offer “unique, memorable and luxury experiences worldwide”.
