The Mission Hills Golf Academy provides an ideal platform to get started in the game of golf or advance one’s playing regardless of the level of experience and skill. The academy is directed by the former head coach of the Chinese National Golf Team, Mr. Wu Xiangbin, and offers a unique personalized training program with lots of practical advice in tackling Mission Hills’ famous courses.
Philosophy
The instruction methods of the Mission Hills Golf Academy are based on Mr. Wu Xiangbin’s “Ten-Point Swing” theory, a highly effective swing technique that is easy to learn and master. The technique identifies and works on different aspects of a golfer’s game for optimal flexibility to meet individual needs and see quick results.

Instructors
Wu Xiangbin, Director
Wu Xiangbing was the winner of the inaugural PGA Championship of China and has been involved with the golf industry for over 23 years. Since 2000, he has dedicated himself to teaching golf full time. With his teaching experience and theory, he has cultivated many of China’s top players and is widely known as the “Best Instructor in China”.
The achievements obtained by Wu Xiangbing between 1994 and 2007:
- Top 10 golf instructors in China 2007 Coached the China National Team at the Asian Games in Pusan in 2002 and Doha in 2006
- Cooperated with CCTV in 2003 in the making of the documentary film 《Swing Technology》and 《Golf Strategy》, two popular golf instruction videos in China.
- Winner of the “Wei Xin Cup” International Golf Championship in 2000
- Became a member of the Shenzhen Political Consultative Committee in 2002
- Represented China at the Dunhill World Cup from 1998 to 2000
- Winner of the “Jun An Cup” International Golf Championship in 2000
Jacky Fan
Jack Fan is a former member of the China National Golf Team. His expertise lies in golf strategy, the short game and putting. Representing China in numerous tournaments including the China Amateur Golf Circuit in 2004 and 2005, he has kept the Championship title for tow years. In 2006, he attended the Asian Games in Doha. And he was runner-up in the Xiamen leg of the Omega China Professional Tour. He is presently ranked 13th on the China PGA Money List.
Chris Huo
Chris Huo is a National Team member. He won the Championship of the China Amateur Golf Circuit in 2006, due in large part to his great mental approach, solid iron play, and consistent putting. He finished first in the 2007 Midea China Amateur Classic. In 2008 and 2009, he obtained the Champion titles respectively in the Boao country leg of China Amateur Golf Circuit and China Citic Bank Amateur Golf Circuit.
David Wei
David Wei is the Captain of the China National team and was ranked 2nd in the third and fourth legs of the China Amateur Golf Circuit in 2007. His strengths lie in course management and putting techniques. He also ranked 2nd in the 2007 Midea China Amateur Classic. In 2008 and 2009, David Wei won the final Champion title and the first runner-up respectively at China Amateur Golf Circuit and China Citic Bank Amateur Golf Circuit.
Scott Liang
Scott Liang speaks Korean fluently and is a master at swing techniques. He was ranked 2nd and 3rd in both the 2006 and 2007 China Amateur Golf Circuit. Scott Liang became professional player in 2009.
Facilities
Specializing in on-course instruction, the Mission Hills Golf Academy builds its foundation on the unique experiences offered by Mission Hills’ 12 legendary courses. The academy is located on the Members Driving Range at the Shenzhen Clubhouse. The range is strewn with bunkers and features a large lake to help players practice precise swings and shots. The facility has 3 natural grass teeing boxes and 32 practice bays. Two additional greens are specially designed for putting and chipping exercises.
